Welcome to 'Dippers & Dunkers'

Roll-up, Roll-up, come and join us on the 21-23 August for a fun-packed weekend of art focused activities, as Margate launches its first festival of New Variety & Burlesque. 

Prior to the 21-23 August, there will be an opportunity to ease into the festivities by viewing the visiting touring exhibition from the National Maritime Museum Skin Deep in the windows of the old Roseby's shop in The Centre, Margate. Or take part in the Street-Magic Workshop at The Community Pharmacy in Market Street, Margate.

The Dippers & Dunkers weekend is a 'Taster' event and in 2010 we hope to launch a week-long festival celebrating Margate's destination as place of classless, ageless and easily accessible entertainment, celebrating Margate's heritage with a contemporary twist.

The weekend festival starts with the fantastic Sassy Seaside Show at the Theatre Royal Margate on the 21 August, when International and National stars of New Variety rush from across the UK, London and Edinburgh to bring you acts that will leave you breathless and wanting more....and we have lots more to offer!

The incredible Sideshow Illusions will be back in Margate for the first time in 50 years and will occupy the Market Place in the Old Town, come and see the 'Headless Woman', 'Legless Woman', 'Girl in a Goldfish Bowl', 'Electra' and the unforgettable 'Mummy'. 

Workshops, Markets, Club-Night, Tattoo Exhibition, Educational Talks and Walks...there really is something for everyone.
